Sunday School

Welcome to our St. John’s UMC School! St. John’s has a growing, active church school offering Christian learning opportunities to children and youth, from preschoolers up to and including the senior high years.
Our goal is to work with families to provide our children and youth with a loving Christian community from which they can begin their lifelong journey as followers of Jesus, secure in their knowledge of God’s unconditional love. Our Sunday School program offers many opportunities not only for children to learn about their faith, but also to practice it by participating in worship services, community service projects, and events just for fellowship and fun!
Sunday school begins at 9:15 a.m., starting with a short “children’s church” time from 9:15 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.in the downstairs Chapel Area. Sunday school ends at 10:15 a.m.. We offer Nursery care and separate Sunday school classes for Pre-K, Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grades 2-3, Grade 4, Grade 5, Junior High (6-8) and Senior High (9-12).
Sunday School has its own wing of the church, with a nursery, separate enclosed classrooms, Senior High and middle school lounges and a Sunday School chapel area. We are also fortunate in that the church’s park-like physical setting, with a large grassy area and woodland access to the Bellamy River, offers us ample opportunities to observe firsthand the wonders of God’s world. That is especially meaningful at the Senior High’s sunrise Easter service, held at our stone altar overlooking the river.
Most of all, we have terrific children and youth, a wonderful group of teachers and families, Christ in our midst and God watching over us! As the song says, “come in, come in and sit down, you are part of God’s family!”
Come, join us!
